Cristian Velasquez moved to the U.S. from Colombia in 1999 after completing undergraduate studies in Geology. He graduated with a M.Sc. degree and Geographic Information Systems certificate from the Geography Department at The University of Georgia.
Since then, while hopping around everywhere – including Colorado, Idaho, Georgia, and Texas – he made a living thanks to miscellaneous job opportunities difficult to not accept. He worked as Technical Support Analyst within the geospatial industry, as Research Assistant with multiple mapping projects, and as a Field Engineer in the Oil Industry but none of those opportunities made him as happy as becoming a Sales Associate in a bicycle shop and later real estate agent.
After completing his fifth Ironman Cristian decided that riding his bike just for fun is more enjoyable and, considering that the idea from now on is to enhance the enjoyment, the natural complementing activity was becoming a realtor in the town he is liking the most, Austin TX.
He may not be the most garrulous person in the world, but he gets the job done and his job now, he says, is matching people’s dreams in real estate. How exciting!
